LIVE STREET CINEMA

Street theatre meets digital filmmaking when Live Street Cinema comes to the Plaza and the big screen at Fed Square.

A character is given a camera crown and is delighted to have his own view of the world projected – so large and oh so public.  But when he is sent on missions to collect particular images of himself in places out of sight, we lose track of what is happening live and what can’t possibly be!

Live Street Cinema is a new public art form created by an experienced team of artists. In this first experiment, Super Self, they use the form to explore the ‘selfie’ and framing of our ‘real lives’ for the consumption of others.

Live Street Cinema is created by theatre artists Dario Vacirca, Jessica Wilson and David Murphy with filmmaker Josh Burns, starring Penny Baron and Julian Crotti, and is supported by City of Melbourne and Federation Square.
