SPECIAL DELIVERY

Find the extraordinary in your ordinary surroundings, with this suite of three guided projects addressed directly to your child and delivered via post to your letterbox. This project was commissioned by ARTPLAY in June 2020.

Covid isolation, holidays, or a day off school - these creative journeys can only happen at home. They use photography, sculpture, role play and creative writing, to experiment with familiar rooms, objects and relationships. With easy steps, each child - the cardholder - embarks on an artistic process which guides them to reconsider what we expect, tap into feelings, enlist adults, and activate their imagination in new ways.

Each project contains up to 15 instruction cards inside its own red project envelope. One SET gives you three separate projects delivered in a larger envelope direct to your child.

WARNING: Some activities require a surrendering adult.

SET ONE:

1. IF HALOS WERE NORMAL: Make a photo portrait of an adult using a strange collection of objects.

2. IF ROOMS COULD TALK: Reveal the secrets of the rooms in your house.

3. THE GIFTED TALISMAN: Craft a symbolic sculpture to solve a problem.

SET TWO:

4. IF ADULTS’ THOUGHTS WERE ON THE OUTSIDE: Celebrate your adult’s most loved and hated daily activities in a photo series.

5. THE OPPOSITE ME: Role play your opposite personality.

6. THE HIDDEN LIFE OF THINGS: Find faces hidden in cupboards and in the street.
